Hurricanes Lacrosse is a
program of Progression Lacrosse Inc. a non-profit program dedicated to
ensuring access to top level lacrosse for all players. There
are three levels of Hurricanes Lacrosse:
Gators: Step One: rising sophomores and juniors
Seminoles: intermediate - rising juniors and rising seniors
Hurricanes: super elite: Rising Juniors and Seniors
The Hurricanes is a new group
of elite teams made up of premier high
school players from all over Connecticut who are coming together to play
tournaments through the summer and fall seasons.
The Hurricanes is a "by invitation only" team. Players are selected by
the team's staff based on their observations of players in action as
individuals and team members. Observations are done mainly at the Nutmeg
Camps Fall Ball program.
Goals
The Hurricanes has one goal: to develop top flight lacrosse players to
their maximum potential.
We believe that this goal is best reached with the skill building
inherent in being on a team where every player is skilled so that the most
is expected of each player by his teammates. We understand that
college level lacrosse is different from high school level lacrosse and that
the best way to learn college level skills is from college coaches. We believe that being on a top team with outstanding teammates and great
college coaches and mentors are by themselves not enough - that to develop
fully players need the intense competition achieved by competition at the
highest tournament levels.
These super elite players will be trained under the tutelage of one of
the game's great coaches, Mike Waldvogel, who is assisted by Jason Ouellet.
